September 24, 2009 South Carolina 16 - Ole Miss 10 Star passer Jevan Snead was hounded all game by South Carolina's defense as the fourth-ranked Rebels lost to South Carolina 16-10. South Carolina had been 1-31 all-time against Top 5 foes, but left Williams-Brice Stadium with the biggest win of coach Steve Spurrier's five seasons. The Gamecocks jumped around and fans rushed the field celebrating a victory never before seen at their own stadium. South Carolina's defense held Jevan Snead to 109 passing yards and limited Ole Miss to 1-of-13 on third-down conversions. Stephen Garcia and the South Carolina offense controlled the ball for the majority of the game while Spencer Lanning added three field goals.
