South Carolina 35 – Alabama 21
South Carolina pulled off its first ever win over the top-ranked team in the country, the signature win for head coach Steve Spurrier, who moved into second place on the all-time SEC wins list. Mark Ingram, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner who ran for 246 yards on the Gamecocks last year, was held to 41 yards on 11 carries as the defending national champion Crimson Tide, riding a 19-game win streak, fell to 19th ranked South Carolina 35-21. Steven Garcia was 17-of-20 for 201 yards with Alshon Jeffery as Garcia's primary target, catching seven passes for 127 yards and two TDs in the upset win. The 35 points was the most scored by an Alabama opponent since LSU scored 41 in 2007.
